Otto (short for Ottoman) in Wanstead offers an ‘authentic Turkish Mediterranean Experience’ in a crisp, bare-wood, wooden chairs, modern ambiance, with a roaring fireplace.
They have a loyal following who praise the choice and authenticity of the food as well as the home made hummus and bread, with the service rated “attentive but not overbearingly so’.
An inviting mix of reasonably priced and good quality food at the heart of Wanstead’s busy restaurant scene, Otto has all the favourites from calamari, grilled haloumi and kebabs, to meze for sharing and party and Christmas menus.
There’s a new and rather glossy cocktail bar for the pre-dinner cocktail menu; outside tables for when the weather is clement; and a glass-roofed section for when it isn’t. A little slice of the Med in East London.
